Rufus é um personagem secundário da Disney. Um gato velho, polido que mora no orfanato Morningside, onde se encontra a garotinha Penny quando Bernard e Miss Bianca tentam resgatá-la. Apesar de ter uma aparição curta no filme, ele simboliza tudo o que o filme representa. Seus dizeres sobre fé se mantêm ao longo de toda a historia.
